A familiar payment choice can remove friction. The right mix depends on your customers and what your payment provider supports for your business.
Evaluate the practical options
Assess cards, convenience-store payments, bank transfers, and supported digital wallets. Check business eligibility, currency, settlement timing, fees, refunds, and the customer-facing instructions with each provider.
Payment services change. LINE Pay’s Japanese service ended on 30 April 2025, so it should no longer appear as an available Japan payment recommendation. See LINE’s service-termination notice.
Test what happens after checkout
For delayed payment methods, confirm when an order becomes paid, when stock is reserved, and when an unpaid order expires. Do not dispatch based only on an order being created. Verify the payment confirmation supplied by your provider.
Expand with a reason
Start with a reliable checkout and clear refund handling. Review abandoned checkouts and customer questions before adding more methods. More logos are only useful when the underlying payment and support experience works.
